Chiefly business papers of Walker Timberlake concerning his various business interests, including his partnership in the James River and Staunton Plank Road Company. Also included are land deeds; personal correspondence with reference to family matters, slavery, and religion; clippings, including a sermon delivered by the Rev. Paul Whitehead on May 10, 1863, entitled "Holiness in Time of War;" account books, 1850-1868; a commonplace book, 1863-1865; and a railroad book, 1853.
